Rodacal Beyem equips its plant in Zaragoza with Stretch Hood by Innova Group

Rodacal Beyem chooses again Innova Group's packaging systems for the end of line of its renovated industrial mortar factory in Zaragoza. Automation 4.0, total protection of its product in bags and sustainability in packaging were the objectives of Rodacal when choosing Innova's Stretch Hood system.

The project consisted of a packaging line customized to Rodacal's requirements, which was installed in May 2022 as part of the renovation of its plant in La Muela (Zaragoza) and is already in full production.

With this new packaging project Rodacal Beyem reaffirms its relationship with Innova as its partner supplier in packaging systems. In addition to this recent installation, Innova has also participated in the installation of a new plant in the north of Spain (Lugo) and in a previous installation of Stretch Hood in Zaragoza.

Rodacal Beyem is a leading Spanish manufacturer of construction materials, specialized in industrial mortars for building, masonry and special applications.  It has its headquarters in La Roda (Albacete) and production plants and branches in Aragon, Galicia, Catalonia and Andalusia.

 

Advantages of Stretch Hood for Rodacal Beyem

Rodacal was already familiar with the Stretch Hood system and had already proven its advantages for the protection of goods at its other end of lines. With the Stretch Hood system, their pallets of mortar bags are fully protected against external agents and inclement weather during transport and storage. In addition, being a totally transparent packaging, without wrinkles or folds, Stretch Hood provides a better presentation of their product at the point of sale, giving an added value to the Rodacal brand.

In the case of mortar products, humidity and rain during transport can damage the product, causing losses and delays in the logistics chain. For this reason, Rodacal Beyem has been opting for years for a solution such as Stretch Hood. The main reason is to offer and deliver to its customers a fully protected product with flawless packaging and presentation.

 

The Stretch Hood line project

The project for the renovated factory in Zaragoza consisted of an Innova Stretch Hood system with its pallet conveyor line and connection to the palletizer system.

• Pallet Conveyor Line:

The conveying line installed at Rodacal consists of an infeed line with a centering system prior to Stretch Hood stretch hooding.  The output line comprises conveyors for accumulation and collection of pallets for logistic storage. 

• Stretch Hood System:

The Stretch Hood System installed in Zaragoza has been customized according to the needs of Rodacal Beyem. The model installed by Innova has been the Stretch Hood SH Pro1-S2 with two reels to guarantee a greater autonomy of the film without reel changes or extra stops in the line.

 

Project results

The new Stretch Hood facility meets the objectives that Rodacal set out to Innova Group. In this aspect, not only did the packaging results have an impact on the product: the Zaragoza plant meets its plastic reduction goal and the company's sustainable objectives. Not only does Innova's Stretch Hood system achieve a reduction in film compared to other systems, but it has also been developed with energy-efficient technology and motors for lower electricity consumption.
